Certainty?

There are some things in life that we can be so sure about. Facts that are undeniable… occurrences that despite hail… rain… or storm seem somehow inevitable:

- The sun will shine in the morning. It may not shine on you, who knows it may be cloudy where you are, but you can be pretty sure that darn sun is shining on someone somewhere behind those clouds

- Flies will be drawn to shit. No matter how hard you try to conceal it, if there is a smell, flies will be drawn to it. Sure sometimes we think how come this other person’s shit goes unnoticed? Rest assured, somebody knows they have shit. It may not stink now – but shit is shit and the longer people attempt to hold on to shit, flies will soon follow suit.

- Bills will come. Yes they will come. Like clockwork they will come. Whether you’re loaded like Trump or broke as a bum – bills will come. We live in a world of “pay and get paid.” Everybody is paid for something and everybody has to pay for something else. This interdependence is a fact of life.

- Family is family. You can’t choose your relatives. Probably disowning will become as popular as divorce some time in the near future but still the father, the mother, the child, the sibling – everyone means something and is connected to someone in some way whether by blood or attachment or likeness. It is the common bond that keeps us alive in this world of bills… where it seems sometimes the sun doesn’t shine… when shit is everywhere…

Another fact was supposedly that I’d see you at lunch everyday. In general, it may not appear as big a deal as the previous items on this list, but it means the world to me. And if I can’t be certain about something as important as that then I can’t really be sure if the sun will shine tomorrow either.
