sho di abas

i love gay lingo
its not only fun to listen to
its mind stimulating as well

i learned it first in high school
and i grew to use it
and love it in college

when i was a kid
i used to re-arrange the letters in a word
aw lang
aw lang wangil

it was not an intellectual attempt
i just found it fascinating
estranged as that may sound

sho di abas
oka ra man na nga show
i find it cute

i simply adore gay people
not just bec they're fun to be with
but bec they're less concerned with the societal standards

i guess that maybe because in their being
they do defy societal standards

and because of that
they are less pretentious
they are less meek
they are not less than a heterosexual

i find it impressive
how they make their own versions of things
their own language
their own norms
their own style (which has conveniently become fashion trends)
they have created a virtual society of their own which encompasses ours

more than a man
more than a woman
in a world created only for a man & woman
it is queer, as queer as it is true

"if the world doesn't adapt to you,
you adapt to the world.
if the world refuses your adaptation
make your own that will."
